We have published a report on the stone water absorption prevention test (comparison with other companies).

This document is a report on the "Stone Water Absorption Prevention Test AD-COAT," which compares multiple products under the same conditions regarding permeable water absorption prevention agents, for which there are no established testing methods or evaluation criteria, making product performance difficult to understand. Test specimens were placed in containers filled with tap water, and weight measurements were taken from the next day for a period of one month. On the specified date, the test specimens were removed from the water, and their surfaces were wiped with a dry cloth. The amount of water absorbed was compared to the initial weight of the specimens. AD-COAT (penetrating water-repellent agent) is not a product aimed at surface water repellency like general water repellents. AD-COAT is designed to prevent water absorption rather than repel water. This applies not only to stone but also to concrete and wood, as water absorption can lead to staining, mold growth, and deterioration. AD-COAT penetrates absorbent materials, densifying the voids to prevent water and dirt from seeping in. It also stops moisture from rising from the backside, preventing wetting phenomena on the surface. While AD-COAT and water repellents may seem similar, please understand that their performance and intended uses are different before making a selection.

"AD-Super" is a penetrating water-repellent and stain-resistant agent. Unlike general water-repellent agents, which are designed for surface water repellency, this product fills the capillaries of the material itself, making it denser and reducing its water absorption. It is suitable for highly water-absorbent substrates such as marble (limestone, etc.) and concrete. This product causes little change in color after application, but it can create a strong depth in some darker colored stones, so testing beforehand is necessary.
